Experienced, practical & collaborative.
After decades working at several law firms and companies, I set out to practice law my own way: as part of a collaborative relationship where I get to know you and your business, where communication is clear, where legal advice makes sense, and where you might actually enjoy talking to your lawyer.
Throughout my career, I have seen lawyers communicate poorly with clients, failing to fully explain billing and costs, promptly return phone calls, or make legal issues understandable. Not surprisingly, clients end up confused and frustrated - which often makes dealing with lawyers downright unpleasant. My approach is different.
My goal is for clients to feel like they are working with a friend who happens to be a lawyer. I simplify legal issues in order to transform concern and confusion into confidence and clarity about the process. You and I work together, pursuing the same objective: to make sure that you and your company's brand are protected.
My connection with my clients is why I do what I do. Utilizing my years of experience and legal expertise where it matters most, I focus on results, while keeping your business goals and budget top of mind. I don't nickel and dime you for completing quick tasks. Our communication is open, friendly, and informative. I am here to help, whether that means being part of the team or taking something off your plate.
Although I am based in New York, I work with clients everywhere, communicating in whichever way works best: in-person meetings, phone calls, video chats, and email. Let's start off with an initial, free consultation to discuss your legal needs, your business goals, and explore how I can help.
Over twenty-five years of quality attorney experience.
Through my decades of practice, at New York City law firms, a worldwide legal consulting company, a European intellectual property firm, in-house as part of an corporate legal team, and most recently, as a solo practitioner, I have broad and extensive experience advising clients on a wide range of trademark issues in a variety of industries.
My work has included in-depth client counseling, global trademark strategy, domestic and foreign trademark prosecution work, complex settlement negotiations, Trademark Office disputes, licensing, cease and desist letters, domain name disputes, and litigation. I’ve guided dozens of trademark applications through the registration process and interacted effectively with U.S. Trademark Office attorneys, overcoming a range of obstacles and achieving success for my clients.
My client base is packed with diversity, from small start-ups to corporate heavy-hitters: from a major American sports league to a renowned video game company, a cannabis, hemp and CBD company to an LA film production company, a family-owned real estate development company to a snowboarding retailer in Maine, a world-renowned New York healthcare system to a marketing and branding expert, a medical technology innovator to a New Orleans cold-brewed coffee producer, an Australian-based solar energy provider to a corporate executive coach, an author of a book series to an Irish software company, a legal services consultant to an online ticket provider, there is no limit to the industries, clients, and range of products and services for the trademarks that I handle.
